Riumors and Vilamacolum

Riumors is known from the 10th c. onwards.  It’s a small town, tiny, really, with several farms and historic homesteads.  They celebrate the Diada de Sant Isidre in May and the festa major de Sant Mamet, in Aug.  The area has been subject to flooding in the past including the significant event in 1421 that inundated much of the area and destroyed much of the original town.  Virtually all of the current buildings are from the 17 c and later.  Mas d’en Batlle is considered the oldest in the area.

Vilamacolum is just south of Riumors.  Farms, fields, apples, cows, pigs, etc.  and some horses.  There is supposed to be a ruined defensive tower in the area, but it isn’t shown on maps of the area or in Patmapa/GenCat.  Hopefully research will suss it out.   They celebrate St Valentines day on 2/14, and the Festa de l’Assumpta
